Mikhail Goldenberg was born in the former Soviet Union on the border of Europe and Asia; as an adolescent, he was inspired by the contrasting views of each continent. Europe’s fine art influenced a refined style and unleashed creativity, while Asia contributed to a mathematical precision in his work. This unified polarity allowed Mikhail to comfortably perceive and work with complex dynamic systems.

1992-2001

CHAOS/CONTROL

The Soviet Union collapsed in the early 1990s, exposing Mikhail to societal chaos and corruption. Mafia and government forces combined. Car bombings, public knifings, and random homicides were daily occurrences. Car bombings, public knifings, and random homicides were daily occurrences. Embedded into his subconscious, these experiences formed his dark, surreal style. To survive, he had to learn how to recognize patterns in chaotic structures and thrive on uncertainty. In search of scientific discipline dedicated to quantifying chaos in social relations, Mikhail graduated from the university, majoring in economics, and worked in corporate management, rapidly rising through the ranks.

2002-2009

CORPORATE TO CREATIVE

In the early 2000s, Mikhail and his family immigrated to the United States, where they settled in Los Angeles. Once immersed in L.A.’s culture, Mikhail developed a strong connection to conceptual art, journalism, and music. These newfound passions jumpstarted his desire to shift his focus from economics temporarily to streamline a career in the creative field.

2010-Present

Today, Mikhail is an interdisciplinary artist who is often found photographing advertising campaigns and editorials for clientele around the globe. With his deep knowledge of capital dynamics, Mikhail understands that sales and branding are the main prerogatives when commissioning a project.

In 2020 Mikhail diversified into cinematography, forming Interlinked Films to serve as a production vehicle for his commercial and art assignments. 

THAT SAME YEAR, HE FOUNDED GOLDEN SHADE STUDIOS - A DISTINCT PHOTOGRAPHY BRAND DEDICATED TO BESPOKE CINEMATIC PORTRAITURE AND MAGAZINE PLACEMENTS, INSPIRED BY THE GOLDEN AGE OF HOLLYWOOD AND EUROPEAN CLASSIC CINEMA.

N 2025, MIKHAIL LAUNCHED ICON ARTIST LABS, A 360° PRODUCTION PLATFORM EMPOWERING MUSICIANS WITH PROFESSIONAL-GRADE VISUALS, SOUND PRODUCTION, BRAND STRATEGY, AND DESIGN SERVICES - ALL STREAMLINED INTO A COMPLETE, ACCESSIBLE SOLUTION FOR AN ARTIST LAUNCH, REBRAND, OR NEW RELEASE. THE VENTURE GREW OUT OF HIS OWN LIFELONG PASSION FOR MUSIC - MIKHAIL IS A COMPOSER, LYRICIST, AND THE LEAD VOCALIST OF THE BAND VOID IN THE MIRROR, WHICH BLENDS DARKWAVE, CINEMATIC POP, AND ART ROCK ELEMENTS.

Mikhail's other passion is philanthropy; his non-profit venture, Goldenberg Global Foundation is set to launch in 2026.

Mikhail’s long term goal is to fuse his deep knowledge of global economics with his lifelong interest in science and technology. By creating two more sister companies – investment fund Goldenberg Capital and tech firm Goldenberg Technologies, he will continue shaping the future in both physical and informational ways.
